Not A Douchebag

randomshopper:

I’d like to address one very valid class-based criticism I’ve seen of Amazon Random Shopper. Namely: I can’t believe this guy has $50 a month to burn on random stuff. I would spend it on things like food and rent. What a waste of money.

The way I look at it is this: I’m spending $50 a month on…

people on tumblr think it’s a waste of money if you’re spenging it on anything other than Feed the Children

news flash, tumblr: 90% of donations to almost any charity get lost in the trickle-down effect. say you have to a thanks giving charity. day you gave them $20 and a frozen tofurkey. is that $20 going towards christmas toys for the yunguns in a month? no, it’s gas money to cart that tofurky around.

if you give money to a charity that acts over seas, there’s even MORE loss to the the trickle down effect because they give that money to the air liner that took the volunteers over seas. so if you think keep airliners in business is charity, good for you.

if you really want to help someone, start a victory garden or adopt an ACTUAL dog or volunteer locally and stop telling other people what to spend their money on. because i KNOW you went to see more than one movie this year, tumblr. i’ve seen the gifs.

‘oh man, all that homestuck kickstarter money could have fed a lot of orphans,’ said tumblr. it’s good to know you undestand the value of entertainment in this country, tumblr, seeing as it is America’s main export and the only thing that keeps our economy afloat that DOSN’T hurt the environment as directly as, say, the cotton industry. and isn’t as cruel to animals as, say, the beef industry.

glad to see you all have your priorities  straight.

-rag on other people’s life styles
-orphans
-go to see more than one movie this year
-drive a car and pretend the money used in it’s production couldn’t have fed any orphans
